SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Experts say more residents of Illinois are moving to Indiana and that number will only grow over the next few years.
More than 34,000 people moved to Indiana from neighboring Illinois in 2015. Studies show Indiana’s lower cost of living and lower tax rate are spurring some of that movement. Others say people are moving because quality of life in The Hoosier State is improving.
As the South Shore Line expansion plans move forward, this trend of transitioning to Indiana may grow even greater.
