Michigan reports 4 more coronavirus deaths, 252 new cases
Michigan health officials reported four more coronavirus deaths and 252 new cases on Sunday.
There have been at least 5,911 coronavirus deaths and 63,261 cases throughout the state.
Saturday: 19 more coronavirus deaths, 314 new cases were reported.
Friday: 2 more coronavirus deaths, 389 new cases were reported.
Thursday: 19 more coronavirus deaths, 353 new cases were reported
Wednesday: 4 more coronavirus deaths, 323 new cases were reported
Tuesday: 11 more coronavirus deaths, 221 new cases were reported
Monday: 7 more coronavirus deaths, 179 new cases were reported
Berrien County has had 60 deaths and 933 confirmed and probable cases.
Cass County has had 4 deaths and 136 confirmed and probable cases.
St. Joseph County has had 3 deaths and 289 confirmed and probable cases.

Republican lawmakers are calling on the state to investigate the use of nursing homes as care centers for recovering coronavirus patients. Nursing homes and long-term care facilities have accounted for more than 1 in 5 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
Officials want to know why the state ignored advice from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services which stated not to release patients in long-term care.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer admitted earlier this month that there were missteps, but says the decision was based on science.
