Michigan City police search for bank robbery suspect

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) – Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a Fifth Third Bank in Michigan City Wednesday afternoon.

The man entered the bank in the 2600 block of Franklin Street around 1:48 p.m. and announced he was robbing it, demanding money from the teller, according to a release from the Michigan City Police Department.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man ran away.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Police described the suspect as a man standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 140-150 pounds. He had a thin build and was wearing dark clothing.
