McDonald's mobile customers get chance to win food for life

In response to McDonald's new Mobile Order and Pay, the restaurant chain is giving customers the chance to win McDonald's for life.

The food-for-life opportunity comes via the "ultimate in VIP status: the Mobile McGold Card," according to a release issued Thursday.

In order to be able to win, customers have to place an order using the McDonald's mobile application between Aug. 10 and Aug. 24. By placing the order through the app, customers receive one entry into the contest.

The entries into the contest are limited to one per day. McDonald's says the winner will be drawn at random and be notified within two days.

The restaurant chain defines McDonald's food for life as two meals per week for 50 years. The prize comes in the form of a $1,000 credit on the McDonald's app, $35,400 in cash and $15,600 to offset taxes. In addition, the winner "will receive a custom gold-0plated 'McGold Card' phone case."
