ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - A woman in Elkhart has been arrested for allegedly tying up a man against his will, shoving underwear in his mouth and threatening to kill him.
Forty-year-old Angel Vanarman was arrested for Level 6 felony criminal confinement with a weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery after police say she forcefully placed the man in restraints and threatened to kill him with scissors.
Police were called to a residence in the 2800 block of Cassopolis Street on Dec. 22 for an unknown male screaming for help.
When officers arrived, they knocked on the door and Vanarman answered, according to a probable cause affidavit. When she eventually opened the door, the affidavit reports she said, "I just tied him up; he is being a bad boy."
With the door open, police reportedly saw a man on the floor with his hands and ankles tied with duct tape, speaker wire and several extension cords. The man also had duct tape covering his eyes and had pink underwear stuffed in his mouth.
Police say both Vanarman and the victim were intoxicated when the incident happened. Officers also reported the victim was tied so tightly his hands turned purple due to lack of circulation, his face was red, he had scratches on the right side of his face and his eyes were swollen.
