Man charged with OWI in La Porte Co. crash that killed 2

and on Tuesday a man was charged with operating while intoxicated and reckless homicide.
Police say 40-year-old Tron Gorbonosenko's blood alcohol level was .17 percent. Indiana's limit is .08 percent.
Gorbonosenko was the driver of a Ford Mustang that collided head-on with a Honda Odyssey on US 20 at Bootjack Road on October 6.
Don and Angie Kaczmarek were in the van and died at the scene of the crash.
Gorbonosenko was critically injured and flown from the scene by Med Flight. He was released from the hospital a week after the crash.
During the course of the investigation, a crash reconstruction investigator determined that Gorbonosenko's vehicle was traveling between 55 and 61 miles per hour prior to impact, which occurred in the westbound lane of US 20.
Gorbonosenko is charged with two counts of operating while intoxicated above .15 percent causing death, level 4 felony; and two counts of reckless homicide, level 5 felony.
Bond was set at $25,000. As of Wednesday morning, Gorbonosenko was still incarcerated in the La Porte County Jail. He is scheduled to appear for his initial hearing in La Porte Superior #1 on Tuesday, October 24, at 8 a.m.
