ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – A man was arrested Tuesday night after leading police on a high-speed, 25-mile chase on the Indiana Toll Road that ended at the Exit 77 toll plaza, near State Road 933.

The pursuit reportedly began near mile marker 52 in the eastbound lanes of the Toll Road, according to an Indiana State Police trooper. What caused police to attempt to pull the vehicle over in the first place was not immediately clear.

The chase reportedly reached speeds as high as 110 mph before the driver got out of the vehicle at the toll plaza. He then allegedly left the car and ran away before police were able to find and arrest him shortly before 10 p.m.

Police said he threw things out the car during the chase. Officers continued to search for those items Tuesday night.

The suspect in the chase has not yet publicly been identified.
