KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) A Kosciusko County man was sentenced to nine years after he was found guilty of rape.
On Dec. 7, 2017, 43-year-old Timothy Rottger was arrested after a woman claimed she had been sexually assaulted.
In court Thursday morning, a letter from the victim was read in which she said, "On that day, my world changed forever."
The defense pointed out Rottger had been drinking when the incident occurred, and Rottger apologized to the court and to "all the parties involved."
The judge responded, "I'm still not convinced you're taking responsibility for your actions."
Rottger was sentenced to seven years in the Indiana Department of Corrections and two years of probation.
The judge ended by saying, "Simply put, no means no."
