Irish team chemistry builds as season winds down

NEW YORK (WNDU) - The Fighting Irish dominated No.12 Syracuse Saturday afternoon with a 36-3 victory.

No. 3 Notre Dame is just one win away from completing a perfect season.

The team's chemistry seems to be at an all-time high.

"It's night and day," Irish safety Alohi Gilman said. "I mean, comparing Michigan to now, just from a communication stand point, from chemistry with the corners with the linebackers, we're all on the same page. We're all clicking in the right direction. We all know we got each other's back. It feels great. Like that's the biggest thing coming out of this game that I'm really happy about. "

Head Coach Brian Kelly believes the strong team bond has played a factor in the team's success.

"They love playing together," Kelly said. "It's a brotherhood that they have built. It doesn't guarantee you're going to win games. It doesn't guarantee you're going to win 10 games. But it does guarantee that you're going to have a group of guys that enjoy being around and that they'll probably do some really good things at times. This group really enjoys being around each other."

The Irish finish off the regular season against U.S.C Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
