Humane Society reviewing applications for dogs subjected to testing

The dogs that were subjected to animal testing at a southwest Michigan lab may soon go to new homes.

The Michigan Humane Society is now reviewing applications to adopt the dogs. The shelter stopped taking new applications Sunday night.

In March, the Humane Society of the U.S. released video of tests on dogs at Charles River Laboratory in Mattawan.

The company in charge of the studies stopped them a few weeks later and agreed to hand the dogs over to the Humane Society.
