Homegrown beer and wine makers are facing off for charity and you can vote for your favorite glass.

Friday is the 4th annual Bottlecaps & Corks. The amateur beer and wine tasting event is a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County.

Home brewers and vintners are coming together at Wellfield Botanic Gardens from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. to give the public their best samples.

Organizers are expecting to host 400-500 people, with the goal of raising $20,000 to support programs and help match new “bigs” and “littles” for the mentor and mentee organization.

There will be 30 beers and 28 wines to sample from 22 brewers and vintners.

Everyone who attends will get a ticket to vote for their favorite beer and wine. The winner will receive a “People’s Choice” award while professional judges will be on hand to award their own favorites.

General admission tickets are $40 and VIP tickets are $60 until Thursday. They can be purchased online here . VIP tickets get you in the doors an hour early to sample drinks with food from Nelson’s BBQ. On Friday, tickets are $45 and $60 for general admission and VIP respectively. Designated driver tickets are $10 and include entry into the gardens and a soft drink.

The event is 21 an over only. There will be live music and Nelson’s will be selling BBQ throughout the evening.
