The lawyer of a Granger veterinarian facing claims of animal abuse says his client will continue settlement talks with the Office of the Indiana Attorney General.

Dr. Jennifer Perusek, from the Animal Clinic of Granger, denies the

filed in June by the attorney general's office.

Dr. Perusek's attorney, John Keuhn, said in a press release Wednesday night, "Dr. Jennifer Perusek and her legal counsel met with representatives of the Office of the Attorney General on October 11, 2017, in a confidential settlement conference. The parties will continue discussions and further investigation of the facts. If the parties do not reach a settlement, the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners will hear the case at a date to be determined."

Currently, Perusek has an active veterinary license.
