A child was flown to a South Bend hospital after nearly drowning in Michigan City Saturday evening.
Indiana Conservation Officers say a church group from Chicago was visiting Washington Park. Three boys started losing their footing while swimming in the lake and went under.
Several people, including a teen girl from Mokena, Illinois, ran into the water to try and rescue them. One of the boys pulled her underwater.
She and the three boys were taken to a Michigan City hospital. One of them was then airlifted to South Bend for continued treatment. The three others were treated and released.
Officers are still investigating the incident.
