DOWAGIAC, Mich. (WNDU) - A woman from the Flint, Michigan area charged in connection with three dogs left in a hot car in Dowagiac was arraigned Wednesday.

Two of the dogs died and the third had to be treated for severe dehydration after they were discovered in the car outside Four Winds Casino Dowagiac.

Prosecutor say Sherrill Renae Langford, of Davison, faces three felony counts of killing or torturing animals.

Langford will not be allowed to have possession of the dog who survived, at least not in the near future.

"The court set a bond conditional on getting no custodial responsibility or possession of animals," Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz said.

Langford is also charged with four misdemeanors: three counts of animal cruelty and one count of lying to an officer.

Her next court date is April 25.
