SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Firefighters are investigating the cause of an apartment fire in South Bend.

It happened around 1 p.m. Friday at Laurel Place Apartments, just across the street from the Kroc Center.

Firefighters say the blaze was put out within 10 minutes. They also say the fire was contained to only one room in a second-floor apartment, but there are several other apartments in the building with smoke damage.

Fortunately, there were no injuries to reports, as firefighters say everyone got out of the building safely.
