WALKERTON, Ind. (WNDU) - Friday was the first day of fall, and it was also the start of a highly-anticipated event in Walkerton -- the Falloween Fest.

All weekend, John Glenn High School will transform into a carnival midway full of rides, food, entertainment and a whole lot of fun.

And the festivities kicked off Friday night with the Falloween Grand Parade, and our very own Maureen McFadden was the Grand Marshall.

Chris Manering, the assistant principal at John Glenn High School, said in its eight years, the Falloween Fest has provided over $225,000 in scholarships to current high school seniors.

It's an event the whole community takes part in, and it's fun for the whole family.

"There's tons of foods, there's tons of shows... live music, we have music actually on the roof that's sponsored by Gean Roofing, and just a lot of different activities," Mannering said.
