Recently unsealed documents provide new details after an Elkhart woman's newborn baby was found dead in her Manchester College dorm room.

The woman was arrested following the death of her newborn son.

On March 8, police were called to 21-year-old Mikayla Munn's dorm room at Manchester University.

Authorities found that Munn had given birth, and she and the infant boy were in a bath tub. The newborn was not breathing.

They were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The infant was pronounced dead, and Munn was treated and released.

According to the Indiana State Police - Peru District, detectives from the North Manchester Police Department and ISP began an investigation and developed enough probable cause for an arrest warrant. The warrant alleges criminal charges for murder of the infant boy and neglect of a dependent resulting in death.

Munn was arrested Monday and transported to the Wabash County Jail.

According to WANE-TV, court documents reveal Munn performed an internet search on at-home abortions while she was pregnant.
