ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - Starting Friday, the railroad grade crossing at County Road 17 in Elkhart will be closed.

The Grand Elk Railroad has plans to rebuild the crossing, which will require closing both lanes of the road.

The more than 25,000 drivers who cross this railroad each day will be rerouted via Middlebury Street, Middleton Run and East Jackson.

Weather permitting, the project will be done Tuesday.
