Dog food spill causes toll road delays

People were delayed on the Indiana toll road this morning in La Porte County because there was dog food all over the highway.
It happened when a semi driver crashed into an SUV, spilling the semi's dog food load all over the westbound lanes.
Traffic was backed up for miles and it took crews hours before they could re-open all of the lanes.
“When it crashed and came to its final rest, the trailer split open so there were several pallets of dog food that burst open (on) the interstate, and it was scattered about and the wreck crew had to clean it up,” Indiana State Trooper Andrew Kocsis said.
Two people in the SUV went to the hospital to be checked out. The truck driver was not hurt.
