A motorcycle crash caused by a deer left multiple people injured.

Police say three motorcycles crashed around 12:20a.m. on County Road 23 near Bristol, just north of the toll road.

A deer jumped out on the road, causing 41-year-old Chris Rugg, of Scotts, Michigan, to hit it.

That set off a domino effect where Jeff Ganus, 34, crashed into Riggs, followed by a third crash.

In all, four people were injured. All of them were taken to the hospital.

Rugg was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for incapacitating head injuries. Ganus was taken to Memorial Hospital for incapacitating head injuries. Mindi Ganus, 33, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for right foot, ankle and abdominal pain. Danica Dreher, 36, was taken to Memorial Hospital for incapacitating upper and lower leg injuries.
