ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - Eighty-seven deer were killed over the last two days at Potato Creek State Park as part of a controlled deer reduction.
The park was temporarily closed to the public Monday and Tuesday for the reduction.
The Indiana DNR says the deer hunts help control browsing by deer to a level that ensures habitat for all plants and animals. Several other state parks across the state also participated in the controlled reduction.
Potato Creek will be closed for another two-day reduction on Nov. 26 and 27.
