The community of Culver hopes to attract young families and other long-time residents through the groundbreaking of a new apartment complex.
The Sand Hill Farm is partly funded by the Regional Cities fund and will consist of 24 units with a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments.
But the project's developer says this is much more than just another project to him.
"This land's belonged to my family for quite a few years, several generations, nd it used to be a place where I would come as a kid," says Kevin Berger, president of Easterday Construction. "So, we're gonna set up for people to come here and be new residents, become involved. You're gonna see a whole lot of things changing in Culver and we're the first step."
Berger also says he hopes the Sand Hill Farm apartments will encourage tourists to settle down in Culver. It will also create housing to support the three largest employers in the area.
