Crews battle Berrien Springs apartment fire

BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. -- Over seven crews in Berrien Springs battled a large apartment fire Saturday night.

Berrien County dispatch confirmed a call came in just before 9 p.m. to Park Manor Apartments on Rosehill Road.

Paul Toliver, Chief of Police with Berrien Springs, said police and fire departments were contacted of a possible structure.

When they arrived, Toliver said one of the buildings was engulfed in flames.

Toliver said he believes all residents got out and it appeared there were no injuries, although they are still investigating this/

Toliver also said 20 apartment units were impacted.

The American Red Cross was on scene and helped between 40 to 60 residents find shelter.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
