UPDATE: Man hospitalized after shooting in South Bend

A man is in the hospital after he was shot on South Bend's west side.

At around 7 on Friday, officers went to Muessel Grove Park after a ShotSpotter alert.

When they got there, witnesses told them about a man who had been shot.

They then went to the man's house and found he'd been shot in the leg.

He's expected to survive.

Police are trying confirm that this man is the same person that was shot near the park.

Dispatcher have confirmed a shooting in the 1200 block of Wilber Street in South Bend.
