A local engineer and paramedic was honored with the Hero Award this evening.

Homes for Heroes recognized Brenden Goodman of Clay Fire for his service within the department and community.

Goodman fundraises for the Battle of the Badges as well as for Officer Kyle Stopczynski,

.

Goodman also plays huge role in Clay Fire's summer camp for kids and much more.

But he says it's the organizations he helps that deserve the attention.

"It's awesome, but the big thing is just getting the recognition for the services - the people that I help,” said Goodman. “That's the big thing that I want is people to know that there are services in this area not only for veterans, for those with cancer and anything else going on whether it's children that are sick and things like that."

Goodman also credits his wife for helping him stay organized, and supporting him in all of the work he does.
