CASS COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - A Cass County teenager who allegedly shot and nearly killed his uncle on Easter in 2017 is back in court, this time facing 16 additional charges.
Eighteen-year-old Dakota Stanley was arraigned at the Cass County Courthouse Friday. Stanley, who is already on probation, was caught possessing methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, and faces 10 counts of felony in possession of a firearm, among other charges.
"He was on probation at the time when he committed this offense, he had multiple loaded weapons. That's why there are so many felony firearm charges," Cass County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Tiffiny Vohwinkle said.
A $150,000 cash assurance bond has been set. Stanley is due back in court for a status conference on March 28. A preliminary examination is scheduled for April 3.
