SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - “Jobs for America’s Graduates” held a conference on Thursday designed to help young people in schools and provide career advancement tools.
This year, the kids got to hear from former NBA star Derek Anderson who preached a message of positive thinking and personal accountability.
“No one said they wanted to be born in the world. They are, but we all have a decision in how we live in this world,” he said. “These kids have a great opportunity, and I just want to give them the hope and the motivation to get them through”
19 schools across five counties took part in the conference.
