AMES, Iowa (WNDU) - South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg was in Iowa Friday speaking to students at Iowa State University. Iowa, of course, is the state that will kick off presidential primaries.

Buttigieg spoke to students about why young people's involvement in politics is paramount and how being the country's first millennial president would give him a perspective other candidates are lacking.

This weekend Buttigieg will be kicking off his book tour in South Bend, and NewsCenter 16's own Maureen McFadden will have the honor of interviewing Buttigieg. That starts at 2 p.m. at Century Center.
