BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) – A body was found floating in the St. Joseph River Saturday morning just outside Niles city limits.
The body was discovered near Bond Street and East Bertrand Road by two fishermen in Bertrand Township around 11 a.m., according to a release from Michigan State Police.
The person has not been identified, but police say he is a middle-aged white man, possibly in his 40s.
The Michigan State Police are now investigating the incident. They also were assisted by the Berrien County Sheriff Department's Marine Division and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
