INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - An Indiana bill that would provide school materials for juvenile detainees has been sent to Gov. Eric Holcomb's office.

Senate Enrolled Act 29 would require a school to provide a child detained for more than seven days with school materials corresponding to their grade level.

The bill would also require the school to deliver the coursework at least once every seven days.

Under the bill, the school corporation would be held responsible for the costs associated with preparing and delivering school materials.

Right now, the bill awaits Holcomb's signature.
