Best-One agrees to pay $1M in overtime back wages after Dept. of Labor investigation

MONROE, Ind. (WNDU) - An Indiana-based tire store chain has agreed to pay more than $1 million in overtime back wages.

A federal labor department investigation of 203 Best-One Tire stores across 24 states found 835 employees were shorted on overtime.

The violations happened because Best-One didn't include bonuses, commissions, incentive pay and shift differentials when figuring out overtime rates.

The Department of Labor says Best-One is cooperating and is taking steps to keep it from happening again.

The company says, "Any noncompliance was unintentional and was immediately fixed.

"We fully cooperated with the Department of Labor, and we are committed to making Best-One the best place to work in the business."
