A Berrien County high school student was arrested and charged with making a threat of terrorism.

The unidentified 15-year-old was taken into custody by Michigan State Police troopers on Wednesday and is being held at the Berrien County Juvenile Center.

The teen is a Berrien Township resident and had been a student at Berrien Springs High School, according to Berrien County Prosecutor Michael J. Sepic.

"While it is alleged a threat of violence was made, there was no information uncovered that suggested violence towards another or a school was imminent," Sepic said in a news release.

The teen will be arraigned at a date to be determined.

Agencies involved in the investigation, in addition to the Michigan State Police, include the Berrien Springs/Oronoko Township Police Department, the FBI and the Berrien County Violent Crimes Task Force.
