UPDATE: Warrant issued for Benton Harbor shooting suspect

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - Officials in Benton Harbor are looking for a suspect in connection with a Monday night shooting, and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

According to a news release, police are searching for 23-year-old Uriah Beauford. A two-count felony warrant was issued Thursday.

The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety says Beauford should be considered armed and dangerous.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Vineyard just after 10 p.m. Monday. When police arrived, they found a 41-year-old woman injured. She is in stable condition.

In addition to the warrants issued Thursday, Beauford is wanted for unrelated charges.

Police say he may be in Benton Harbor, Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo.
