MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU)- If you are a current or former member of the military, treat yourself to a free car wash on Veterans Day.

Cars have been lined up all day long outside Drive and Shine locations Sunday as vets waited for their free car washes. They're open until 7 p.m.

"One of our big goals for our company is to be good stewards in our community," said District Manager Jeff Guess. "We don't want to just think about ourselves, we want to give back as much as we can."

It's a way the car wash wants to thank for their service to the country. This is something they've been doing for more than a decade, now.

Drive and Shine is one of many car washes across the country that has teamed up to make sure members of the armed services feel a sense of appreciation on this day.

"It really is something they really appreciate," Guess said. "It's something small in the big picture of things that we can give back to those that have served so much. If we can give a free wash, make their day a little bit better, little bit brighter, cleaner car, it makes their day a lot better and it's easy for us to do."

Although the equipment at the Mishawaka location couldn't allow them to provide the washes on Sunday, all other locations in South Bend, Elkhart and Schererville were operating just fine.
