BRIDGMAN, Mich. -- The Bridgman City Council will hold a meeting Monday, March 18 to hear residents' opinions on the proposal to eliminate the dog beach at Weko Beach Park.

In a letter, city officials say there has long been conflicting language regarding animals on the beach, but the original ordinance does prohibit animals on any portion of the beach.

If the ordinance is passed, dogs would no longer be allowed on the beach starting in April.

The meeting will be at the City Hall building on 9765 Maple Street at 6:30 p.m.
