WESTVILLE, Ind. (WNDU) Three men were arrested overnight for a series of thefts from vehicles in LaPorte County.
At around 2:45 a.m. Monday, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Spruce Street in Westville after getting a report that an SUV had possibly dropped off two people who may be entering vehicles in the area.
A deputy pulled over the SUV. The driver, 19-year-old Quinn M. Daley, allegedly admitted that he had dropped off two people who were stealing from vehicles.
Deputies eventually found the other two suspects. They were identified as 19-year-old Austen T. Wood and 24-year-old Dominic M. Jones.
In total, police recovered 65 stolen articles and $87.82. The recovered stolen property is estimated to be worth approximately $2,600.
All three suspects were arrested and charged with theft, a level 6 felony.
Additionally, Wood and Jones were charged with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, a B misdemeanor.
Police also determined that Jones is a wanted person (failure to appear arrest warrant) by the St. Joseph Police Department.
Citizens are urged to lock their vehicles and remove valuable personal property.
