Driver identified in LaGrange County fatal accident
Police say an 11-year-old boy was hit and killed by a vehicle in LaGrange County, according to our reporting partners at the Goshen News.
The driver was identified Monday as Eva Kurtz.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department says Kurtz was driving east on County Road 400 South, just west of County Road 700 around 6PM on Friday.
That's when Kurtz says she didn't notice an 11-year-old boy from Topeka pulling a small wagon just off the side of the road.
By the time she saw him, it was too late.
Witnesses say a light was attached to the back of the wagon, and they say it was turned on at the time of the crash.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department is still investigating.
So far, Kurtz hasn't been charged in the boy's death.
The boy has been identified as Loren Daniel Miller, son of Joe and Mary Miller of Topeka, according to an obituary.
