UPDATE: Drivers identified in five-vehicle Roseland crash
One person is dead after a five-vehicle crash at State Road 933 and Pendle Street in Roseland.
It happened late Friday morning at around 11:30.
Police say Warren Zinn, age 81 and from South Bend, died after his northbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck three vehicles, including a semi. The vehicle flipped multiple times before coming to a stop in a nearby parking lot.
St. Joseph Coroner Mike McGann confirms that Zinn suffered a "cardiac event" and died as a result of natural causes, which caused him to cross the center line.
Christine Sanders, age 70 and from South Bend, and Patricia Woods-Price, age 52 and from Niles, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They have since been released.
Aaron Holy, age 31 and from Niles, and Joseph Regulinski, age 47 and from South Bend, were not injured.
"I was traveling behind the Ford Escape, we were both going southbound on 933 and a car going northbound swerved into oncoming traffic," said Aaron Holy, a driver involved in the accident.
He continued: "Charlotte, my child, was in the truck. She slept through the whole thing."
Traffic was limited to one lane for nearly three hours following the incident, but they've since reopened.
