Spending time with our children is important for their development and their happiness, but often times, the distractions of work and everyday life get in the way.

WNDU-TV and our partners present Give Kids Time, a resource to help parents make the most of your time with your kids, including a parents’ pledge.

Take the pledge because good things happen when you give kids time.

Give Kids Time Parent/Guardian Pledge
One of the most important gifts I can give to the kids in my life is the gift of my time. Sharing time gives children opportunities to learn, to express themselves, and to feel loved.

  • I pledge to set aside 10 to 30 minutes a day of uninterrupted time to connect with my child/children.
  • I pledge to keep distractions such as work and other obligations from interfering with my child’s time (playing with a child is a good way to learn to let go and relax).
  • I pledge to listen to my children, let them know I value what they say, and share my thoughts and experiences.
  • I pledge to keep it simple (the act of sharing a meal, doing chores together, reading a story, or playing a game can mean a lot to a child).
