Ibrahim Samra

Multimedia Journalist

Ibrahim Samra graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia College Chicago.

There, he completed four internships including Foodseum Chicago, NBC Sports Chicago and worked alongside Chicago Magazine’s best as a researcher. Because of his excellence in the classroom, Ibrahim was awarded a scholarship throughout all of his four years at Columbia.

He reported on several important stories including: Mayoral Election, NFL Draft, Chicago Cubs World Series and the Laquan McDonald protests. Ibrahim’s exclusive video coverage of the protests went viral and was the lead story to several local stations in Chicago.

When Ibrahim is not in the newsroom, you can find him in the kitchen eating, hanging out with family or playing basketball at a local gym (who has a decent handle but a streaky shooter). He had the opportunity to meet Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Bears legend Mike Ditka and work alongside ABC 7 Chicago’s “The Hungry Hound” Steve Dolinsky.

Despite his pride for his hometown, Oak Lawn, Ibrahim has made it his duty to serve the Michiana community, and everything that surrounds it, with strong, impactful and qualitative reporting.
