South Bend Cubs win Midwest League Championship, 7-4

EASTLAKE, Ohio (WNDU) - The South Bend Cubs are champions!
The South Bend Cubs won their third and final game of the Midwest League Championship on Wednesday! In an explosive finale, the Cubs beat the Lake County Captains 7 to 4!
The game was scoreless until the top of the 3rd, when the Cubs scored 5 runs behind 2 home runs between Owen Caissie and Pablo Aliendo.
The Captains responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd, to cut the lead to just 2, but 2 more insurance runs in the 5th, from a 2-run home run by Luis Verdugo would seal it.
Just like Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, Cubs fans celebrated on a rainy Wednesday night in Cleveland.
