Camp Millhouse raising money for new lodge
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Camp Millhouse is celebrating 85 years of serving children and adults with special needs.
But they need the community’s help to continue making a difference.
The current lodge is 82 years old and has damage throughout the building.
A new lodge is needed by next year. The new building will allow more space and a safe place for campers and staff to eat and do activities.
The cost is $1.2 million, and Camp Millhouse has raised half of that so far.
“But we do need to start building as soon as camp is over, we need to be able to start in august,” said Diana Breden, executive director. “So, we have a lot of money to raise in a short amount of time, but we’ve done it before, and we know we can do it again.”
Camp Millhouse is hosting a dinner and auction on March 12th to help raise money for the new lodge.
