SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The South Bend Lions are finally having a chance to play in front of fans this season.

The team was announced in late 2019, but of course the United Soccer League Two’s season was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Now the Lions are roaring to go at School Field and are grateful to have the community support.

“It’s a great atmosphere,” Lions coach Thiago Pinto said. “There’s a lot of support here. There’s a lot of interest in town. There’s a lot of excitement. I think we got to continue to represent South Bend well. You know Rep the Bend.”

The South Bend Lions will be back at home on Saturday at School Field to take on Oakland County.

The game gets started at 5 PM.
