BUCHANAN, Mich. (WNDU) - The Buchanan Bucks are gearing up for their regional championship game tomorrow afternoon against North Muskegon.

The Bucks have had an incredible year, only losing two games, each by just a run.

They’re also the number one ranked team in the state. But to the Bucks, it’s just a number.

“It’s just a number, you know?” Buchanan Baseball coach Jim Brawley said. “I guess I’d rather be the number one than the hundredth, you know? So at least we got a good squad. There’s a lot of good squads out there. We’re just going to go and compete.”

“It’s just a number,” senior Keeghan Pelley said. “Any team can be number one and they can lose. We go out there. We don’t even think about it. We go out there and play our game. It’s just a number I mean. Any team can be number one and they can lose. We go out there. We don’t even think about it. We go out there and play our game.”

“We try not to think about it too much,” junior Murphy Wegner said. “It’s obviously better for us to come in underrated but you know what, we’re just going to handle the pressure and take it one game at a time.”

Buchanan plays North Muskegon Saturday at 1 at Cornerstone University for the the regional championship.
