SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - On Wednesday night at School Field, the South Bend Lions played their first home night game at TCU Field but it was Kalamazoo FC who came out on top 3-1.

Kalamazoo scored early. In the fourth minute, off of a corner kick, Tyler Green headed in the first goal of the game to put Kalamazoo up 1-0.

Six minutes later, the Lions would tie the game on a slotted finish from Abraham Dukuly.

The second half was all Kalamazoo FC as they scored two goals - one from Cyrus Harmon and the other from Adrian Lara.

“I think we needed to be a little more consistent in the flow of play and a bit more incisive in the final third but I think the boys know they can produce a little bit more than what we showed tonight,” Lions head coach Thiago Pinto said. “We have a lot of character a lot of flare, but we need to learn how to be more resilient and handle the game a little bit better.”

The South Bend Lions will be back at home on Saturday to take on Oakland County.

The game gets started at 5 PM.
