BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - The City of Benton Harbor is making updates to their water system.

As part of the work, they’re repairing and repainting the water tower. It has to be temporarily removed from the system to get the work done.

If you live in Benton Harbor, you may notice cloudy water or low pressure. Officials say you can flush the tap for five minutes or until the water is clear.

The city will also be replacing piping that is 120 years old and removing lead pipes. That work is expected to take a number of years.

If you have any concern over your water or protecting your family’s health, you can get more information from the Berrien County Health Department.
