ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - For the first time since the St. Joseph County Department of Health launched a guidance chart for reopening schools last summer, all four COVID metrics currently fall in the green zone.

The green zone advises in-person learning can take place. In previous updates, the red zone advised e-learning to take place, while the yellow zone called for a hybrid model involving a combination of e-learning and in-person learning at a reduced capacity.

St. Joseph County has 242 active cases, and a daily average increase of 13.9 cases based on a 7-day rolling average. Meanwhile, the percent positivity of tests stands at 3.1.

The reproduction estimate is also in the green zone due to “too few cases” as of June 1.
