SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - On Monday in Bridgman, Michigan at the Lost Dunes Golf Course, the Kelly Cares Foundation put on their first event in 15 months with their 2021 Golf Invitational.

The Kelly’s were excited to raise money to build communities through health and education, but they say their sponsors were even more excited. Their sponsorships sold out faster than ever before.

“We know that we still have the supporters so when we pull it back the next year and make the event just as great as it was when we left,” Kelly Cares Foundation board president Paqui Kelly said. “Our feeling is because people are so supportive and want the events that there is a need a desire to be involved in them.”

The Kelly’s were glad to get back out there again for a good cause.

“People want to feel good about getting back and involved in the non profits and helping out the best they can,” Notre Dame head football coach Brian Kelly said. “We’ll now take stock in the excitement there is for wanting to support the non profits in particular the things we are doing. We’ll get together and put together what we believe will be some of our important items over the next year.”

The Kelly Cares foundation has not announced how much money was raised yet, but they say it could end up being the most money they’ve ever raised.
