Lakeland principal wears tutu, gets pelted by water balloons to support student
LAGRANGE, Ind. (WNDU) - A school principal sporting a purple tutu on a tricycle gets pegged with hundreds of water balloons as he lays it all on the line to help one of his students.
It all happened outside Lakeland Intermediate School in LaGrange.
Principal Brad Targgart says the goal of the event was to raise money for 4th grader Daniah Neto, who is now confined to a wheelchair after recently suffering from two rare genetic mutations.
He says although getting hit with hundreds of water balloons isn’t easy to take, he is willing to get hit if it helps Daniah.
“She is getting ready to have some surgery next week at Shriner’s and it was a little intimidating. 600 water balloons coming at you, not all at once, but I made several laps around the students and gave them many opportunities to pelt Mr. Targgart with a water balloon,” he says.
Daniah is expected to undergo neurosurgery next week.
