Wednesday’s Child: Teen Seeks Farm Family
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Confident and calm are two words to describe 16-year-old Steven. He is an Indiana foster child in need of adoption.
Steven is a natural athlete. Basketball and football are his favorite sports, but he also likes band. He plays the snare and bass drums.
“One of my favorite things is the sound and the way they move around,” said Steven.
Steven really likes marching band and how a great performance makes him feel.
“I feel really excited. It makes me feel great it gives me good hype,” said Steven. “It’s just a great thing.”
Steven is an optimistic person.
“You don’t want to go out into the world all negative,” said Steven.
He has a difficult past. Steven has been in foster care for the past eight years.
“My mom and dad left me when I was eight years-old,” said Steven. “And it just broke my heart.”
He wants to fill that void with new family connections.
" I just don’t like feeling alone. If I feel alone, it makes me feel sad and then I won’t have anybody to live with.”
Steven dreams of one day living and working in the country.
“I’ve been hoping for people I can live with that have farms. They would let me do a little tractor work. I love working with animals,” said Steven. “I like helping people.”
Steven says he likes math and science and would like to go into the army after graduation. If you would like to learn more about Steven, just click here for Indiana’s Adoption Program: Steven | Indiana Adoption Program
